Dans les prés fleuris for voice and piano (1925-26)

The song Dans les prés fleuris, setting to music an anonymous French text, was not published in the composer’s lifetime and remained unknown for many years. It was published in 1981 in Volume 19 of Szymanowski’s complete Works. Adam Neuer, who prepared the manuscript for publication, believes that Szymanowski composed this vocal miniature while on holiday at St. Jean-de-Luz in 1925 or 1926 with Dorothy Jordan-Robinson. Robinson was an amateur singer, and this rarely performed piece was possibly composed for her.
